Pistachios

I haven't posted for awhile, but that doesn't mean that I'm not happily baking in my Breadpot. I think that I've shared the important points of my baking with Judy and am now happily anticipating the first batch of pots for sale. Just want to share that of late I've been mixing in a "bunch" of pistachios and love the taste of the finished loaf. I'm bring a loaf of this bread along with cheeses for a cheese course at a friend's house this weekend.

  1. I should add that I'm adding the pistachios to my standard bread which is 2 cups white, 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1/2 cup wheat.

  2. My pot finally arrived this week and I was delighted! The recipe I used was:
    2 C whole wheat flour
    1 C oat flour
    1/2 t yeast
    1 t salt
    1 1/2 C water
I let the dough rise longer than the recipe said...and not much was happening. I called Judy for advice and she assured me to keep going. I did and my bread turned out great! Richard (my husband) thought it could have used some honey or sweetener of some sort, and I agreed. I can't wait to try some new variations and I'm thrilled to be part of the Bread Baker's Blog. I took photos, but cannot figure out how to post them. More later.
